Travel to Ljubljana

The conference will be held in Ljubljana. To help you plan your journey, we have outlined the most convenient travel options.

By Air

The most convenient airport is the Ljubljana Airport (airport code LJU). Other nearby airports are Venice (VCE), Treviso (TSF), Trieste (TRS) and Zagreb (ZAG).

Airport Transfers

We recommend the GoOpti shuttle service. It offers customisable departure times and transport directly to your hotel or to the central bus station (and the nearby central railway station) of Ljubljana. 

Approximate transfer times with the GoOpti shuttle are:

• From Ljubljana Airport (LJU), the transfer time is about 40 minutes.

• From Venice (VCE) and Treviso (TSF), the transfer time is about 3 hours.

• From Zagreb (ZAG) and Trieste (TRS), the transfer time is about 2 hours. 

From Ljubljana Airport we alternatively recommend Markun Shuttle: (just as GoOpti, it provides door-to-door transfers with customisable departure times). There is also a regular bus route from the airport to the Ljubljana central bus station, its price is €4.60. Taxi services are available in front of the airport.

From the Venice, Treviso and Zagreb airports, we alternatively recommend FlixBus transfer to the central bus station of Ljubljana. We recommend you to book your airport transfer well in advance.

By Train and Bus

For participants travelling from a neighbouring country or Central Europe, taking the train or bus may be more convenient and cost-effective than flying.

• Train: trains arrive at the central railway station of Ljubljana. 

• Flixbus: offer routes from many European cities, arriving at the central bus station of Ljubljana.

Both the central train and bus stations are conveniently located downtown.
